One of the department's initiatives this year is targetting schools and youth groupings for our Yellow Ribbon awareness programmes. In doing so, we are being proactive in our efforts to reduce the increasing youth population at our centres.

Fiji's youths need to understand that life behind bars is a waste of valuable time and that there is nothing glamorous about it. Once convicted that stigma has a bearing on their destiny, hence the need for avoidance.

In this section, we attempt to highlight all our Yellow Ribbon awareness programmes in school, communities, villages, settlements and even in maritime zones.
