AFTERCARE
Giving Second Chance In Action ![]() Semi Baledrokadroka was released from the Minimum Security Prison on Wednesday, August 27. The following day, on Thursday August 28, while his former colleagues in prisons were rehearsing the programme for the YELLOW RIBBON launch, Baledrokadroka was starting work at the Orical Glass Company in Suva. What a wonderful and awesome demonstration of giving a second chance in action. Thanks to the support and confidence of business owner Vikash Narayan. Baledrokadroka who is married with three children had just spent six years in prison where he worked in the construction team just before his release. His happy association with Mr Narayan started with Bible classes being conducted at the Minimum Security Prison by Jonasa Tonawai. Mr Narayan is among a number of people, including business men and women who regularly attend those classes. The same classes are being conducted for the inmates by Tonawai. That is where the link up started and Mr Narayan agreed to take on Baledrokadroka. Mr Narayan believes that there would be employers out there who would give the opportunity to offenders who have demonstrated a genuine willingness to change. |
