"We came expecting a win here today (yesterday) but we were down 2-0 in the first half," Bulivou said.

"But we stuck to our game plan and came back strong in the second half and threw everything at them," he said.

His side was down 2-3 mid-way in the second half and managed to score the equaliser and winner in the dying stages of the game.

"Most of us are from Levuka and hockey is in our blood since we have been playing the sport from a young age."

"Next year we can guarantee we will come back a better side to retain the title that we won today (yesterday)," Bulivou said.

Fiji Hockey Federation development officer Tai Smith said all players displayed good skills and standard of hockey.

"I wish we could keep some of these players in the Fiji side," Smith said.

"Today (yesterday), they played their hearts out and it was evident in the standard of games and skills displayed by them," she said. Police were ranked third in the competition
