SPONSORSHIP BOOSTS WARDEN'S MORALE

The Wardens side is all geared up and will leave no stone unturned at the upcoming Fiji Coral Coast Sevens tournament. This, after a boost in the teams’ morale following a $2800 sponsorship from Handy Finance Limited at their Suva office today. On hand to receive the cheque this morning was Warden team manager Penisoni Moce and coach Timoci Wainiqolo. Handy Finance Limited general manager Joyce Mano said they were more than happy to sponsor the Fiji Corrections Service team. “We believe in partnership and engaging with the community wherever possible so this is one way of doing it. “The Corrections Service is one of our best customers along with the Police Force and we are glad that we are able to support you in this way,” Mrs Mano said. “We look forward to supporting you in the future,” she said, adding that they wished the team all the best. Mr Moce expressed gratitude on behalf of the Commissioner of Corrections saying the team would do their best at the tournament. “Nothing is impossible and the Wardens team is very positive and ready to play their hearts out,” he said. Assistant team manager Lemeki Rokovesa said the sponsorship was indeed a timely boost. “We are very excited about this especially when there are top teams coming in to compete and we’ve been pooled together with the current champion,” Rokovesa said. Handy Finance has supported the Warden team in past tournaments. Twenty four teams will play over 60 matches during the 2-day tournament, which has $30,000 up for grabs as the major prize money. www.corrections.org.fj |
