Corrections chief Lt. Col Ifereimi Vasu meets inmates
after the church service in Lautoka.

The Fiji Corrections Service will provide a lot of programmes to rehabilitate inmates and equip them before they are released, says Corrections Commissioner Lt. Col Ifereimi Vasu.

Speaking to inmates during a church service today, Col Vasu said rehabilitation is the tool that will bring about change in the lives of inmates.

“These programmes will only be successful if you put your interest into it,” Col Vasu said.

“We cannot do it alone, we need your support and we need to work together,” he said.

Col Vasu also commended the church groups that are assisting inmates in terms of their rehabilitation.

“Religious groups lend us a huge assistance in terms of changing the lives of those under our custody. This really means a lot to us,” he added.
