MILITARY OFFICERS PRAISE INMATES' CHRISTMAS CHOIR
The Christmas carol choir entertaining at the RFMF yesterday. Officers of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces were pleasantly surprised yesterday when they were visited by the Christmas Choir of the Fiji Corrections Service comprising inmates and staff. “It is the first time in my 22 years in the army that I have seen a Christmas carol group come and sing at the camp,” said an officer at the engineering section. The same sentiment was expressed by other officers in the three locations the FCS choir performed in at the Queen Elizabeth Barracks yesterday. The three hosts at the RFMF were the 3FIR headquarters, Logistics and the Engineers. The choir consisting of inmates and officers of the Suva Corrections Centre has performed at 30 locations in Suva including banks, business houses, hotels, media organisations, special homes, and key stakeholders. Over the weekend the choir, the choir will sing at the MHCC and the FNPF Boulevard and on Christmas Day will sing at the CWM Hospital and St Giles. Meanwhile, the choir made up of inmates of the Corrections Centre at Natabua is also showcasing at various business houses including the Nadi International Airport. www.corrections.org.fj |
