JOB WELL DONE, SAYS CORRECTIONS CHIEF

The Handy Finance Warden team show off their spoils with the Commissioner Lt. Col Ifereimi Vasu.

Commissioner of Corrections Lieutenant Colonel Ifereimi Vasu today urged members of the reigning Handy Finance Warden team to maintain their stand and keep the momentum.

The team walked away with the $30,000 prize money after defeating Police 26-21 during the finals of the Coral Coast 7s tournament at Lawaqa Park last Saturday.

During a thanksgiving morning tea for the team at Corrections House this morning, Lt. Col Vasu said he was pleased with the team’s performance.

“Thank you for a job well done. You have done all of us proud indeed, even for those who have left the Service.

“A lot of positive comments have been forthcoming because you have brought victory to all of us at Corrections,” Lt. Col Vasu said.

The Commissioner said the victory was gained through hard work, commitment and sacrifice.

He also thanked the staff and their families for their support.

An elated Handy Finance Warden team coach Timoci Wainiqolo said he was proud of the boys’ achievement.

“We dedicate the win to all Corrections staff and their families,” he said.
