INMATES ELATED WITH FAMILY VISIT
Inmates at the Medium Corrections Centre spend time with their loved ones during Family Day last Saturday. If there is one day that inmates look forward to in their calendar of events, it is to spend time with their families and loved ones during incarceration. Last Saturday, inmates at the Medium Corrections Centre in Naboro cherished every moment with their families and close friends during a Family Day organised for them. “Family Day is organized once every quarter and it is an opportune time for inmates and their families to sit down and catch up on activities they may have missed out on at home. “This is an event that inmates always look forward to – the only time they can sit down with their loved ones, share their meals, share stories and have a laugh,” FCS spokeswoman Ana Tamani said. “It is a moment that inmates cherish the most while serving their terms,” she added. Such events are organized by the FCS to ensure that inmates have a sense of belonging with their families and the community of which they are a part of. A total of 192 family members visited the Naboro Corrections complex to spend time with their loved ones. www.corrections.org.fj |
