FCS STAFF TAKE PART IN CIVIC PRIDE
Staff of the Fiji Corrections Service help out inmates clean the Vatuwaqa cemetry on Saturday. Staff of the Fiji Corrections Service engaged in cleaning up activities over the weekend as part of the Services’ commitment to civic pride. Officers from the Naboro Corrections complex cleaned up the Father Law Home in Lami early Saturday morning. These included officers from the Maximum Corrections Centre, Medium, Minimum and the Pre-Release Centre. Meanwhile staff and officers at the National Headquarters, along with inmates busied themselves at the Suva foreshore right up to the Suva Grammar school grounds. Officers of the Suva and Women’s Correction Centre helped inmates clean up the Vatuwaqa cemetery. The FCS normally takes part in civic pride activities as part of its engagement with the community. Last year, the Corrections Service created history when it became the first recipient in the inaugural Clean-Up Fiji Award during the annual Civil Service Excellence Awards. www.corrections.org.fj |
