FCS GETS $3K FROM HIBISCUS CHARITY CHEST

Yellow Ribbon coordinator Chief Corrections officer Isireli Dausiga receives the
cheque from Miss Hibiscus 2011 Alisi Rabukawaqa.

The Fiji Corrections Services has received $3,469 of the $8469 it raised as part of its contribution to the 2011 Hibiscus Charity chest.

The rest of the funds raised was given to the Fiji Society for the Blind, Rotary Club of Suva East, Sefanaia Sau Artificial Limbs, Rescue Mission Association, Home of Compassion and St John’s Association of Fiji.

Yellow Ribbon Coordinator Chief Corrections Officer Isireli Dausiga said the money was collected by the FCS during the week-long Hibiscus festival including donations from the stakeholders to the Services.

“During the festival, we managed to collect $8,469 for the Hibiscus charity chest. This was possible through kind donations from our respective stakeholders who all supported the Yellow Ribbon concept,” COC Dausiga said.

Hibiscus Event Group general secretary Aqela Cakobau commended the effort by the Corrections Services to support the worthy cause.
