CORRECTIONS OFFICERS COMPLETE JSO COURSE
Corrections officer Seremaia Bakeiyasawa and Tuapati Kacivi have completed a JSO course. They are pictured here with Deputy Commissioner Akuila Namakadre. Two Corrections officers have done the FCS proud by completing the six-week Junior Staff Officers course along with 15 military and two police officers. They are Chief Corrections officer Seremaia Bakeiyasawa and Corrections Officer Class A Tuapati Kacivi. “The training is actually done for those who are being groomed to become future leaders and we are proud that we have two representatives from the Corrections Service who have successfully completed the course,” Deputy Corrections Commissioner Akuila Namakadre said. “It’s actually the third time the FCS has sent our officers for this training and since 2008, we have had a total of five officers completing the JSO course,” Mr Namakadre said. He said the selection of the two participants was based on their performance and a pass in their Required Fitness Level. “This course with our counterparts from the army and police will improve our interoperability in terms of sharing of information, knowledge and skills among the three disciplined forces,” Mr Namakadre added. Military Chief-of-Staff Brigadier General Mohammed Aziz closed the course at the RFMF Officers’ Mess last night during a formal dinner for the participants. www.corrections.org.fj |
