Commissioner Lt. Col Vasu congratulates members of the Wardens team at headquarters.

The reigning Wardens 7s team was treated to tea today at the Corrections headquarters by the Commissioner of Corrections Lt. Col Ifereimi Vasu and his staff.

Coach Timoci Wainiqolo and his boys were elated when Lt. Col Vasu acknowledged and congratulated each of them during an afternoon tea.

Acting Assistant Superintendent of Corrections Watisoni Nino said the team had brought pride to the Corrections Service.

“Thank you for all the hard work. You sweated out there, you bled and you gave your heart. Your win is ours. We could not have asked for more.

“We cannot express how happy we are and the joy the Corrections family shared when you claimed victory in the Uprising 7s tournament,” A/ASC Nino said.

The Wardens team beat the FMF Fiji Warriors 31-26 at the TFL National Stadium over the weekend.

Manager Penisoni Moce said they were grateful for the support from the staff and he attributed the win to team work, commitment and perseverance.
