BE ROLE MODELS, OFFICER CADETS TOLD
New officer cadets listen in during a brief by the Commissioner of Corrections Lt. Col Ifereimi Vasu. Fresh officer cadets of the Fiji Corrections Service have been urged to become role models. While being briefed by the Commissioner of Corrections Lt. Col Ifereimi Vasu, the cadets were told that passing out is just the beginning of their career with the Corrections Service. He commended them for their achievements after successfully passing the 11-week program. “You have to be role models because you will become leaders in the years to come,” he said. He told the cadets to work hard to meet the expectation of the Corrections Services. Lt Col. Vasu said their military training will boost the morale of their work at Corrections. “You will undergo programmes for you to be aware of how things are done here at Corrections,” Col Vasu said. He said the testing phase will continue in which their performance will be continue to be assessed. The 17 cadets will be on leave for two weeks before they will be deployed to Corrections Centres. Awards won by the lot include the Best All around Recruit, Best Female Recruit and the Best Light Machine Gun Shot. www.corrections.org.fj |
