FPCS donates Rugby Jerseys
01 February, 2010 The Commissioner of Fiji Prisons & Correctional Services Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua and A/ASP Sakiusa Veiwili with the Sasa Rugby Team The Sasa Rugby Team was boosted by the donation of a new set of rugby uniform from the Commissioner of Fiji Prisons & Corrections Services (FPCS) Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua. Sasa Team Captain and Pastor Wame Boselawa said they were very grateful to the Commissioner and FPCS for the donation which included rugby jerseys, shorts and socks. Presenting the jersey to the Village Rugby Team, the Commissioner urged the team not to see it just as mere uniforms but wear the jerseys as ambassadors of the Yellow Ribbon Project. “This is a gift from your brothers and sisters under our care. “Wear it with pride during the game as it carries a very important message. “One that will bring life, and it will bring happiness”. Boselawa said that village life was hard when it comes to money and he thanked God for answering to their prayers. “I know we have a role to play in the field not only to be victorious but also to preach the message of the yellow ribbon in the rugby field. The team and supporters presented a tabua, mats and coconut oils showing their appreciation to the commissioner and FPCS as a whole. The Sasa Rugby Team has been promoted to play in the Macuata Premier Division this year after a successful outing last year. www.corrections.org.fj
