Sigatoka was a sea of yellow, as the Yellow Ribbon Project team descended upon the river township to participate in the My Digicel Coral Coast Festival.

Handing out more than 500 yellow ribbons to all participants who took part in the float possession the Yellow Ribbon Project team was well received.

At the height of the celebration, renowned local performer Margaret Bennion who was wearing a yellow ribbon took the crowd by storm.

YRP Coordinator Isireli Dausiga who led the team said that the awareness created on the virtues of the Yellow Ribbon was excellent.

“People from all ages wanted to wear the yellow ribbon to show their support, during the parade some of the people watching joined us and walked with the team the whole way.”

The YRP team’s participation is part of the FIJI Prisons and Corrections Service observation of October Yellow Ribbon Month.
