Prisoners at the Korovou Prison in Suva were fortunate on Saturday August 15 when they were paid a visit by medical officers from the Christian Health Outreach (CHO).

The CHO team made of four medical doctors and other health assistants made the visit as part of their outreach programme to not only medically assists the prisoners but to provide counseling as well.

CHO spokesperson Mr Imanueli Aisake said that the team was grateful to the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services (FPCS) for allowing them to come and visit the prisoners.

During the visit the members of the outreach team conducted screening for high blood pressure, diabetes and did dental checks.

Mr Aisake said that while the team made medical checks, they also counseled the prisoners and provided spiritual healing as well
