Movements of correspondence within the prison institutions in the Suva and Nausori area is expected to be quicker and more efficient with the availability of a motorbike for the daily mail run.

Thanks to the kind assistance of Post Fiji Limited which donated a Kawasaki 125cc motorbike to the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Service to be specifically used for mail runs between the prisons institutions and head office at the Civic House in Suva. "Delay in the mail is one of areas of concern by the management and has been a major complain among the inmates," says Commissioner of Prisons Brigadier Ioane Naivalurua who received the donation at a hand-over morning tea at Civic House on Thursday, July 17.

"We hope that the situation will improve now that we will have two mail runs between the institutions daily and delivery service," the Commissioner says," and we appreciate the kind gesture by Post Fiji."

The managing director of Post Fiji, Mr Seveci Tora, who handed-over the motorbike says that his organization was happy to be of assistance and stood ready to assist where it could in the future.
