God of Second Plenary
We serve the God of second chance, says Rev Pita Cili, general superintendent of the Assemblies of God Fiji.
Rev Cili made a the comment while he and other senior church officials were making an official visit to the Fiji prisons as guests of the Commissioner Ioane Naivalurua.
“The Lord Jesus Christ is the God of second chance” says Rev Cili. “Everybody including churches, vanua, families, and society must come forward and help offenders.”
The AOG delegation demonstrated the church’s support with a donation of $3000 to go towards the work of rehabilitation in the prisons especially in the Yellow Ribbon Project which was launched on Saturday, October 11th 2008.
The AOG delegation is the third Christian denomination that had visited the prisons as part of the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Service effort to engage key stakeholders in its rehabilitation initiatives including the Yellow Ribbon Project. The AOG has the largest prisoner population among the Christian denomination.
The delegation was briefed at prison headquarters, Civic House before taken on a tour of prisons in Suva and Naboro. They were entertained by meke at the Naboro prisons.
