INMATES HELP CLEAN UP FLOOD DEBRIS
Inmates contributing to clean-up efforts at the Ba Muslim Primary School this week. Inmates from the Western division are helping military personnel, Correction officers and town council officials in cleaning up areas which were affected by the recent floods. Yesterday inmates from the Natabua Correction Centre helped clean up areas outside the New World, Shop and Save, Courts supermarkets and the market. Supervisor West Assistant Superintendent Isireli Dausiga said the recent adverse weather conditions had affected the people in the West and offenders at the Centre wanted to contribute to rebuilding their lives. “The offenders in Natabua are contributing to the clean-up efforts in order to restart and rebuild the lives of people. “It’s also targeted at giving them a sense of responsibility,” ASC Dausiga said. Inmates from the Ba Corrections Centre are also helping council workers clean up the town and assist people return their lives to normalcy. www.corrections.org.fj |
