This year’s representative to the 2010 Hibiscus Festival Mr Yellow Ribbon Penaia Cimo today was taken around to all correctional institutions in Nasinu, Suva and Naboro.

Accompanying Mr Yellow Ribbon was Mr Read Fiji Alick Lota.

The two contestants were officially accompanied by Fiji Prisons and Corrections Service Staff Training Camden Bola.

Penaia Cimo said during the tour that by physically touring the institutions, he was learning more than any power point presentation.

“To be actually shown around the institutions gives me more understanding of the good work that the correctional officers are doing to change the lives of the inmates.

“This is more educational than sitting down to a power point presentation.

“It was very touching to meet and talk to the inmates, these young people have the same dreams as me but circumstances have taken them off track.

“I made a promise to the inmates that I met that I will do my best to represent them in Hibiscus Festival 2010.”
