WARDENS RUGBY TEAM RECEIVES NEW OUTFIT
![]() The Commissioner of Police and Prisons Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua receiving the new rugby jersey from Handy Finance Managing Director Mr Jerry Simon The Wardens’ Rugby Sevens Team today (Monday, November 15, 2010) received new sets of rugby outfit kindly sponsored by Handy Finance at the SCED Bure, in Korovou. Handing over the Jersey to the Commissioner of Prisons, Handy Finance Managing Director Mr Jerry Kootz Simon said that they are proud to be associated with the Yellow Ribbon Program. “We have come on board to support this good cause by donating this jerseys imported from Australia for the Wardens rugby 7’s team as a token of our continued support to the Yellow Ribbon campaign in Fiji” Mr Simon also said that their donation will further help enhance and support the holistic approach undertaken by the commissioner since the launching of the YRP two years ago. “Through rugby, the wardens’ team members have become role model in society thus making the re-integration process effective in a systematic manner” In receiving the new rugby jerseys the Commissioner of Prisons and Police Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua thanked the Managing Director Mr Jerry Kootz Simon for their continuous kind and loyal support over the past years. Meanwhile, Wardens rugby coach Sergeant Major Josateki Savou said that the New jerseys will certainly boost the team’s morale as they prepare for the Coral Coast Sevens which kicks off this Friday November 19th. www.corrections.org.fj |
