MANAGING FINANCES IMPORTANT- COMPRI

The COMPRI, Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua during his inspection to future correction officers, Naboro.

Commissioner Prisons- Brigadier Iowane Naivalurua says – ‘ preparation of recruits must not only cover fitness and knowledge of the organization they serve but also include the knowledge of everyday issues for example managing finances’.

In an inspection of future prison officers’ recruits in Naboro - Naivalurua inspired new recruits by querying their financial status and encouraging officers to save finances and spend wisely for their future.

“If you don’t have anything in your bank account then I suggest you do start saving because some of you already have families and those of who haven’t could be having one soon. It is a good start for you individually and for your families, to always have a good savings account otherwise the pass out would be just a memory ’.

The Fiji Prisons and Corrections Services in conjunction with Westpac Banking Corporation will begin their ‘Managing Finances” classes next week.

Meanwhile 76 young women and men would be passing out this Friday as Prison officers after 12 weeks of preparation of knowledge, fitness and skills at Naboro.
