JAPANESE REPS INDICATES STRENGTHENING RELATIONSHIP WITH FPCS
Second Secretary of the Japanese Envoy, Captain KESUKE ONOZAWA with the Representatives of the Japanese Embassy. A team of representatives from the Japanese Embassy in Suva toured the Fiji Prison complex in Naboro and Korovou- after analyzing the possibility to enhancing AID and trade. According to Second Secretary of the Japanese Envoy, Captain KESUKE ONOZAWA, the visit was an indication of strengthening further ties with the initiatives of the Fiji Prisons and Corrections Services. The Japanese Government has since extended much AID in establishing a Poultry farm to enhance, execute and assist in the rehabilitation of inmates. The Rehabilitation of inmates in Fiji started a few years ago through a concept called the ‘Yellow Ribbon Project’ which was birthed in Singapore. However the Japanese has since contributed to the execution of initiatives placed through ‘Yellow Ribbon’ for its initial cause. Meanwhile the Japanese Government has been positive trade partners for Fiji since 1972. |
