![]() Royal Fiji Military Force representatives stand on guard at the Rememberance Day, Sukuna Park. The Commissioner of Fiji Prisons and Corrections Service Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua today joined 100s of serving and ex-service in applaud at Government’s initiative to support a $1.3 million project for our return ex-servicemen. The initiative by the government will stand as a reminder of the courageous deeds of those of our country men that have fallen in past campaigns all over the world. The project which is hoped to be completed next year to host the Remembrance Day observation will include a clock-house, car park and monumental roll of honour. It was a proud moment for the weary ex-service men, who had served our nation gallantly as they were applauded by the thousands they slowly but steadily marched in unison into from the Suva Flea Market into Sukuna Park led by the Fiji Police Band The ex-servicemen were accompanied by, uniformed servicemen from the Fiji Military Forces and the Fiji Police Force. After the official ceremonies were over the ex-servicemen exchanged stories and reminisced about their exploits and fondly remembered their fallen comrades. Other serving officers from the friendly forces joined the ex-servicemen in one of three marquees erected on the park. www.corrections.org.fj |
