Nasinu Prison inmates at the AIDS Awareness workshop in Nasinu yesterday. 

PRISONERS were responsive to an awareness workshop on sexual health and substance abuse held at the Nasinu Prison yesterday. 

This was evident with many questions raised by the prisoners during the sessions. Officer-in-charge Hari Nath said the workshop was important for youths in prison to be informed of issues that affected their lives. 

"This is the first such workshop for this year for the prisoners," Mr Nath said. He confirmed there were no cases of AIDS or other STIs at the prison. 

The workshop was organised and sponsored by JICA. Mr Nath said it was important for the prisoners to know how they could protect themselves from sexually transmitted diseases.
