PRISON OFFICERS PREPARE FOR OVERSEAS DUTY

Three senior Fiji Prisons and Correctional Service Officers today (July 17) completed two weeks of intensive training in preparation for a 3 month tour of duty to the Solomon Islands with RAMSI.

The three officers are Deputy Commissioner Prisons Auta Moceisuva, Office-in-Charge Medium Security Prison Acting Assistant Superintendent Penisoni Moce and Officer-in-Charge Nasinu Prison Assistant Superintendent Hari Nath.

The prison officers were part of a contingent of 31 Police Officers who were in training preparing for a United Nations Mission to Liberia at the Police Academy in Navosa.

The training course ended this morning with participants ending a survival course in the dense jungle of Savura, last night.

The intensive training program included live obstacles maneuvers, medical first aid, evacuation procedures and team work.
