PRISON OFFICERS ATTEND INTEGRATED LOGISTICS WORKSHOP
Four Fiji Prisons and Correctional Service Officers are today (July 22) attending a three day forum on integrated logistics and interoperability at the Fiji Police Academy in Suva that is being coordinated by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces.

The four prison officers are being led by Superintendent Headquarters (SHQ) Akuila Namakadre who presented a paper on the overview of the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services from where it was, where it is and where it wants to go.

In SHQ Namakadre’s presentation he told the participants gathered at the forum that the changes happening within the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services are part of the Commissioner’s plan to align the service to the Prisons and Corrections Act 2006.

Some of the visual changes SHQ Namakadre said is the new look corporate style uniforms, the acquisition of new and latest technologies and the recruitment of professionals in specialised areas.
The outcome he was for prison officers to become correctional professionals.

The forum is in part a response and alignment of Fiji’s Defense Forces, its partners and stakeholders in achieving government’s strategic plan for disaster and other national coordinated events.
