MEDIA HAVE CHANCE TO VISIT PRISON
Information
A team from the Ministry of Information visited the Prisons and Corrections Service last week through an invitation from the Commissioner of Prisons. The Permanent Secretary Mr Neumi Leweni headed the team and was accompanied by his Deputy Secretary Mr. Setareki Tale and other Information Ministry staff.

It started by a short briefing at Prison Headquarters before they visited Suva Prison, Medium Prison, Maximum Prison, Piggery and Broiler Shed at Naboro Prison Complex.

The visit was an eye opener to them, and a good opportunity for them to come and see for themselves what is really happening inside prisons.

This is part of the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Service bigger plan to engage all stakeholders, government ministries and society to help offenders in whatever ways so that they can become better people and also earn their living when released from prison.
