HEALTH AND FITNESS PROGRAMME
Staff from the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services Headquarters, Central and Eastern Division, officers from the Naboro Prison and the Female Prison took to the road on Wednesday, July 22 as part of they health and fitness programme.
The route march which was organised by headquarter and lead by Assistant Commissioner of Prisons Operations Orisi Katonibau began from the Fiji School of Maritime in Laucala Bay, up the hill to Flagstaff, down Rewa Street into Samabula and then down Reservoir Road and completed at Korovou Prison. At Korovou, the offices cooled off with light refreshments provided by the Supervisor Central Eastern Division Acting Superintendent Sairusi Gauna. More than 60 officers endured the hour long march with a few stiff muscles at the end of the route, but overall the march served its purpose and that is to promote health and fitness and also prepare the officers for the next Required Fitness Levels (RFL) test. Every Wednesday, the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services hold a health and fitness programme which is geared towards the officers’ image of being professional correctional officers. www.corrections.org.fj |
