GETTING BACK TO REALITY

The Commissioner of Prisons Brig General Naivalurua shook hands with Mr Kunatuba during his farewell

Soon to be released extramural prisoner Mr Peniasi Kunatuba said that he counts himself fortunate to experience life as a prisoner and is thankful that God gave him the opportunity to see the other side of life.

“I have enjoyed my time from the first time that I set foot in prison, because it gave me the opportunity to come down from the clouds and get back to reality.

“I use to live up in the clouds and it was not until I got grounded that I realised that they are cracks and potholes on the ground.

Mr Kunatuba said that he is thankful for the opportunity given to him by the Commissioner of Prisons and Correctional Services Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua.

“I am so glad to be part of the system during this transformation of the department, I am 56 years old and I am still learning.

“I thank God for allowing me to work at all levels and I am grateful for the cooperation I received from the officers and the ladies”

Mr Kunatuba also apologised and asked for forgiveness, if he had hurt or offended anybody.
