FAMILIES JOIN INMATES FOR CHURCH SERVICE

As part of the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua’s intent to engage society in the rehabilitation process of inmates, 508 family members joined inmates in a Church Parade at Lautoka.

The parade was held at the Natabua Prison and Corrections Centre.

During the church parade the 146 inmates mingled with their families and loved ones and enjoyed a hearty lunch prepared by their families.

The Church Parade is one aspect of the Yellow Ribbon Project where society is encouraged to engage with the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services by showing community support, solidarity and action to assist offenders in their rehabilitation process.

The Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services firmly believe that the successful reintegration of offenders is the best guarantee of security to society.
