CREATING A COMPUTER LITERATE SERVICE
![]() As part of the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services Commissioner Brigadier General Ioane Naivalurua’s intent that by the end 2010 at least 85 per cent of staff are to be computer literate, another 10 officers on Thursday July 23, completed a Basic Computer course. The three day course was facilitated by Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services IT Trainer Mrs Raijeli Kainoco. The training of prison officers is part of an ongoing programme to ensure that officers are trained in all aspects so that they may become correctional professionals. This is all part of the services effort to improve its information and communications ability and is in line with aligning the service to the Prisons Act 2006. The IT training Centre at the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Services Academy in Naboro also hold s IT training for inmates as well. www.corrections.org.fj |
