YELLOW RIBBON THUMBS UP
The Singaporeans are asking ‘What is Fiji’s secret?

That is the report of Acting CPO Sireli Dausiga when he returned from 2008 annual launch of the Yellow Ribbon Project in Singapore in early September. It took over three years for the Singaporeans to prepare the groundwork and putting in place the legislative framework before it launched the Yellow Ribbon Project in 2004.

The Commissioner of Prisons Brigadier Ioane Naivalurua and Deputy Commissioner Auta Moceisuva attended the launch in Singapore in 2007. On their return the Commissioner was convinced that the Yellow Ribbon is a programme suitable for Fiji. CPO Dausiga was part of a two-man delegation led by the Supervisor Northern Jope Caginidaveta who were guest of the Singapore Correctional Service at the launch.

They made a presentation in which they outlined the progress and the current status of the introduction of the Yellow Ribbon Project in Fiji.

Fiji is launching the Yellow Ribbon Project on October 11.
