WALKING FOR KIDNEY
![]() It was a day of fun and revelry for more than 30 officers who participated in KIDNEY AWARENESS WALKATHON held in Suva on Saturday July 12. The walk,organised by the Kidney Foundation and sponsored by Vodafone, started from the Muanikau and ended up at the Suva Bowling Club with refreshments and morning tea. "Walking is not only good for the health," says Commissioner of Prisons, Brigadier Ioane Naivalurua who led the Prisons team at the early morning walk, "it is part of our engagement and participating in community activities which the department should promote." Brig. Naivalurua was supported by the Deputy Commissioner, Auta Moceisuva and Assistant Commissioner Orisi Katonibau. The Prisons Department will be participating in similar community activities in the future. The Kidney Foundation has recently installed the nation's only dialysis machine at the Colonial War Memorial Hospital. |
