SUKUNA BOWL HONOURS
In another historic development, the Fiji Prisons and Correctional Service was the chief guests at the annual Sukuna Bowl church service held at the National Stadium on Sunday, October 26. More than 100 inmates and 150 officers led by the Commissioner of Prisons, MR Ioane Naivalurua and Mrs Naivalurua attended the service. The corrections service reciprocated the honour by the singing of the inmates’ choir led by Sergent Delana. The invitation to the church service came personally from the Prime Minister and Commander of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama who was also at the church service. All the three disciplined forces attended. The police was led by the Commissioner Esala Teleni. The Sukuna Bowl was donated by the late Ratu Sir Lala Sukuna and is annual contested by the police and the military in rugby. This year the police retained the trophy. |
