There is only one Women Prison institution in Fiji and it accommodates all classes of prisoner’s which includes convicted and unconvicted prisoners. Prisoner’s employment includes root crops/vegetable farming and upkeep of prison compound. Since the Women Prison is a pilot prison for Education, Training and Rehabilitation Programs, it has been undertaking programs such as Alpha Programs, Numeracy and Literacy Programs, Flower Arrangement Training, Basic Sewing Training, Religious Programs, Counseling Programs, Weaving Training, and Start Your Own Business Courses. |
