2013 ANNUAL CORPORATE PLAN
Our 2013 Annual Corporate Plan (ACP) is the fourth and second last phase of our five-year Strategic Development Plan (SDP) 2010-2014.
It describes the functions and activities which we will seek to deliver within our allocated budget for 2013. As alluded to by the Commissioner of Corrections Lt. Col Ifereimi Vasu, the achievement of these will require the full commitment of all Corrections Service staff, the consistent support of the Government, the regional and international community and more importantly, that of the community at large. We have identified five core functions to drive the organization forward towards achieving its strategic objectives. SAFETY & SECURITY This function contributes to a safer community by reducing the risk of serious incidents and escapes occurring from our Correction centres. By meeting this objective we want to ensure that staff, inmates and visitors to our institutions are provided with a safe environment through the implementation of appropriate security management. IMPROVED REHABILITATION This function provides programmes and activities which meaningfully addresses inmates’ core behavioural issues which gave rise to their crimes, thereby reducing the likelihood of their re-offending when released. IMPROVED INFRASTRUCTURE This determines the upgrade and maintenance of all FCS Infrastructure to meet international standards. IMPROVED ENTERPRISE This supports our efforts in the commercial/entrepreneurship programmes culminating in the formation of the Fiji Corporation of Rehabilitative Enterprise (FCORE), which will be the focal point for all business activities connected with our rehabilitation programmes. IMPROVED CORPORATE SERVICES This function assists with capacity building of staff through effective recruitment, training and development to increase and improve skills, abilities and standards to meet current and future Corrections Service’ needs. |
